The Meyerhoff Maryland Scholars Program at
Central Scholarship Bureau

This Scholarship Fund was established in 2007 by The Meyerhoff Family Foundation.

The goal of this Fund is to enable academically talented, middle-income Maryland residents who are undergraduates at Maryland public colleges and universities to graduate with little or no student loan debt.

This Fund provides scholarship assistance to full-time undergraduate students who are permanent residents of the state of Maryland and attending an accredited Maryland public college or university.  Applicants must be sophomores in the 2008-2009 academic year. Fourteen Scholarships of up to $7,000 per academic year will be awarded. If the recipient graduates within four years with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, an additional $7,000 Grant will be awarded to pay towards student loan debt. Each total scholarship award will be no more than $28,000. The income ceiling for this program is a family adjusted gross income of $150,000 as indicated on the 2007 IRS tax return.

Application Process: Supporting Documents must be submitted by no later than May 31, 2008 and any postmarked after this deadline will not be considered.  Incomplete application packages will not be considered. Early application is encouraged.

Finalists will be contacted by email and will be required to come to an interview with the Scholarship Committee or a member of the CSB staff.

This is a competitive scholarship program. Applicants will be evaluated and selected based on a combination of academic excellence and demonstrated financial need. Academic excellence will be weighted heavily in the selection committee’s decisions for this program. A student submitting an application package is eligible to be considered for other CSB programs for which they meet the criteria, including our interest-free loans.

All decisions of Central Scholarship Bureau and the Scholarship Committee are final.
