Straus Scholars Grants

The purpose of this grant is to provide financial assistance to qualified candidates as outlined below. Grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded for each academic year and these grants are renewable each year based on good academic progress.  In addition, students graduating after the fourth year with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher will receive an additional $5,000 to pay down their student loans.

To be considered you must meet the following criteria:

	Must be a permanent resident of Maryland
	Candidates must be a sophomore, junior or senior pursuing an undergraduate degree at any accredited US institution.
	Must be continually enrolled on a full-time basis
	Must demonstrate financial need
	Preference will be given to Baltimore City students who attend Maryland public colleges but all Maryland students are encouraged to apply.

Application Process

This a competitive program; not all applicants will be selected as recipients.  All decisions of Central Scholarship Bureau and the Grant Committees are final.
