#1. Use this checklist to see if you meet CSB's basic eligibility criteria.

You are, or have been accepted as, a full time student at any accredited college, university or vocational school in the United States.

You have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0

You have established permanent residency within the State of Maryland for at least one full year before entering a post-secondary program.  Students who have established permanent residency within 200 miles of Baltimore, MD may be eligible for our interest-free loan program only. 

Your family meets CSB income guidelines:

  • Adjusted gross income of less than $90,000.
  • Parental income for single, graduate students will be evaluated on an individual basis.

You have applied for Federal, State and school financial aid. You do not have to take an unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan or a Parent-Plus loan to be eligible.

You are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

                      CSB Application Instructions below:

NOTE - If offered, we strongly recommend that all applicants accept the Interest-free Loan as it will save you tens of thousands of dollars over time.

Loan Approval Process If and when a loan has been approved and the repayment terms are determined, the loan recipient and their qualified co-signer(s) are required to sign a promissory note specifying their financial obligation to repay CSB according to the agreed upon repayment plan.

After any such loan approval, all students will be required to notify Central Scholarship Bureau of any change of mailing address, E-Mail address, telephone number, or academic standing.


Finalists will be contacted by email only and may be required to come to an interview with the Scholarship Committee or a member of the CSB staff. If your E-mail address is not valid, another finalist will be selected in your place.
